Position Overview

BayCare Medical Group, a physician-led organization, is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our dynamic Cardiology team serving Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater and Mease Dunedin Hospital in Dunedin. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a high-volume, collaborative team that values mentorship, professional growth, and compassionate care.  The APP provides both inpatient and outpatient services, including evaluation, diagnosis, management, and follow-up of patients with cardiac and electrophysiologic conditions.  Our ideal candidate with have two or more years of experience in cardiac medicine as an advanced practice provider.  

 

Inpatient & Consult Management

  • Start Inpatient Consult notes for STEMI patients
  • Interventional Consultation for NSTEMI / Urgent Cath patients / PAD referrals
  • EP consults

Pre- and Post-procedure Care

  • Pre-cath orders for outpatients +/- inpatients
  • Speak with patient / families if any questions / concerns prior to procedure
  • Post-procedure access site management / complications management
  • Make sure outpatients are discharged on appropriate medical therapy (antiplatelet therapy, statin, beta-blocker etc)
  • Follow-up on post-procedure inpatients – monitor access site, ensure patients are on appropriate medical therapy (antiplatelet therapy, statin, beta-blocker etc)
  • Education for nursing staff on floors - Access site management / post-procedure care
  • Privileges for Implantable loop recorders?

Outpatient Clinic & Follow-up

  • Follow-up with STEMI / NSTEMI / post-PCI patients in office in timely manner (ie 1-2 weeks after procedure)
  • Follow-up post EP device patients within 1 week
  • Hypertension Clinic – Help develop comprehensive HTN program 1-2 days per week
  • Collaborate with Clinical research team to screen patients for Clinical research trials

 

Qualifications

  • Two or more years of experience in cardiac medicine as an advanced practice provider
  • Ideal candidate should be flexible, affable, creative, energetic, and can show compassion while working with patients. 
  • Florida licensure and certification NP-C or PA-C
